Tata AIG General Insurance Company Limited is a joint venture between Tata Group and American International Group (AIG). The company commenced operations in India on January 22, 2001, and has completed 25 years of service in 2026. Tata AIG has developed a broad general insurance portfolio serving individuals and businesses through its Consumer Lines and Commercial Lines businesses.

The company provides a wide range of general insurance covers and focuses on delivering trustworthy and innovative risk solutions. Its business includes both personal and commercial insurance requirements, supported by professional expertise and claims servicing capabilities. Tata AIG has an in-house claims team of 400+ experts spread across 90 offices in India, along with a customer service team supporting customers across the country.

As of March 31, 2026, Tata AIG reported an Asset Under Management of approximately ₹35,876 crore and a workforce of 9,000+ employees. Its distribution network includes 1,17,000+ licensed agents, 980+ licensed brokers, and bancassurance and affinity partnerships. The company also has 266 branches across India.

Tata AIG has also invested in digital insurance services through its “Go Digital” initiative, designed to make the insurance purchase and policy issuance process easier in the digital environment.
